Our Mission: To achieve excellence in service and the development of leadership in the local and global community.
Impact is an organization at the University of Texas at Austin campus that was started in Spring 2011. We are a service-oriented organization dedicated to going out into the community and having a direct impact through service on those in need. A few definitions:- When we say "direct," we mean that we want to promote face-to-face interaction by serving those in need in person, and making our impact immediately felt.
- When we say "impact," we mean that our goal as an organization is to leave these volunteer events that we create feeling better about the situation of the person/people that we were trying to help. Once helping these people, we intend to have left a positive footprint on their lives, so that they can continue on in a better state than before.
- When we say "those in need," we are referring to people that actually need our help. We are referring to those that are poor and without food, cold and without clothing, and lost without a home. We are referring to those who don't have a companion--children without a friend, adults without a mentor or a guide. We are here to serve those who really need our help.
